Santo Aleixo da Restauração is a Portuguese border village located in the municipality of Moura, sub-region of Baixo Alentejo.
In Santo Aleixo da Restauração three religious festivals are celebrated, with the Tomina Festival being one of the largest on the east bank of the Guadiana River.

History:
War of the Restoration of Independence.
During the War of Restoration, Santo Aleixo was the scene of two major battles, the first on October 6, 1641 and the second on August 12, 1644, the latter being larger, which caused more casualties on both sides and also caused the most damage to the village. This last attack also earned Santo Aleixo the designation of heroic village and the change of its toponymy in the Diário da República to Santo Aleixo da Restauração in 1957.
War of the Spanish Succession:
On May 31, 1704, Santo Aleixo was the target of a siege by Spanish forces, who ruined the village, as part of the Portuguese involvement in the War of the Spanish Succession.

Economy:
The parish has agricultural activity as its economic base. The secondary sector has a very simple weight in the local economy, along with the tertiary sector, although the latter has a much higher expression. The main driver of the parish's economy is Herdade da Contenda, the municipal company responsible for managing the Contenda Forest Perimeter, which despite the socioeconomic benefits it has for the parish, generates a large loss to the Municipality of Moura, owner of the municipal company that manages the estate.'
